Linda May Han Oh is a bassist and composer who has become one of the most influential musicians of her generation. After sharing the stage with major figures including Pat Metheny, Kenny Barron, Joe Lovano, Dave Douglas and Terri Lyne Carrington, she continues to shape contemporary jazz through her creativity and distinctive playing.

News — 20 September 2026. Beneath Lifted Skies, a duo album by Linda May Han Oh and saxophonist Melissa Aldana, was released on 21 August 2026 by Biophilia Records. Official source.

Winner of a GRAMMY Award in 2023 for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, as well as prestigious international honours including the Deutscher Jazzpreis in 2022 and the Herb Alpert Award in 2023, Linda May Han Oh has reached the top of the specialist charts. Named Bassist of the Year several times by the Jazz Journalists Association, JazzTimes and Hothouse Magazine, she received an honorary doctorate from the Manhattan School of Music in 2024, recognising an already exceptional career.

In 2025, she returned with Strange Heaven, a bold new trio album recorded with trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and drummer Tyshawn Sorey. Released on August 22, 2025, Strange Heaven confirms Linda May Han Oh as an essential voice in contemporary jazz, capable of transforming every note into a cathartic journey.
